My favourite bar in my home town of Norwich, UK - The Pitcher & Piano. Used a high contrast/B&W theme, thought it gave a nice effect.
Just laid them on a sheet of a3, turned off the lights and used a mag-lite to bring the light out on the sticks. Simple, but I think it came out quite well. Sometimes its nice to go back to basics!
