I decided to take a portrait of one of the ladies, a friend, who lives in the same village as we do.
She has so much character, and over the years her wonderful face shows us, she has plenty of stories to tell.
I took this outside on my verandah, with her sitting in my canvas swing seat.
It was late in the afternoon, and very overcast with no blue sky at all.
The natural backlighting, has given me the white background that I was looking for, re the contrast with her 'etched with time' face.
I like to personally thank Cecile Brittain, for allowing me to take this "Black & White", portrait of her.

This lady probably is ageing gracefully, but that is not what the picture shows us. I think you should really work on your editing skills and use PS-tools (or other) with much more care. Look how the hairs contrast with the background (that you probably deleted). And what have you done to the eyes and the teeth? They look so unnatural.
I think this has been sharpened too much and the "touch-ups" to the left eye as well as the cut outs has made it seem a bit "unreal". The edges of her hair show the selections/eraser areas
