Taken on a recent trip to Southern California. I found Death Valley an amazingly diverse and wonderful place. The variation of colors, textures, and contrasts made for a wonderful trip and I want badly to go back and explore more. Used a circular polarizer, leveled horizon, boosted the contrast, hue and saturation, and ran it through NeatImage to get rid of some spotty pixels in the sky.

Praying this does well...

Michael, this awesome photo is yours??? I should have known! Well, you know how I feel about it from the comment I left during the challenge -- but I am shocked that it wasn't one of the top photos! The textures and richness of the colors. The composition. I think it is absolutely amazing!

I gave this an 8. Very nice. Difficult, and could just be a perspective thing, but maybe a whisker up on the left or a 'perspective fix' in pp.
