This is my youngest daughter Mary playing dress up...
Shot in my house with two 300 watt light bulbs (flood lamps from walmart) and some black fabric for a backdrop. I used a flash light (not a camera flash, but a regular old small flash light) for a seperation light. This was at night so I didn't have much light, therefore I shot at ISO 800 and ran it through Noiseware community edition.
Shot in RAW converted with cs2. To convert to B/W I used two HS adjustment layers, one for desaturation and one for filter. I did some selective USM using layers/mask/paintbrush. I also used 1 curves layer.

Ok, there is a raging debte about people's voting habits at the moment, so i will attempt to give a detailed comment with my vote:
Good shot. nice composition. good lighitng fro mthe front and back. there's a costume. gausian blurrrrrrr effective here. not my favorite photo in the sense that it doesn't do it for me but as photos go (lighting skill, editing, composition etc) is good. 8
I know child photography is hard and can imagine how many takes you would have had to get before getting a nice shot. If as posed, had tilted her head to look directly at the camera, with that puppydog look, it would have made a pleasing shot.
