A self portrait. The lighting's kind of bad, but all I had were a couple of table lamps. I've also been struggling with the issue of monitor calibration and even differences in color from one program to another on the same machine/monitor. It's quite frustrating. This photo (at least on this monitor) looks much better in ps than in image ready or on the web. I always worry that if it varies that much just on my computer that it probably looks like horrible glowing green or something on everybody else's. Oh well. The quest for a good monitor calibrator continues. (part of the problem of course is that I work on a 4-year-old laptop LCD). Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks for your comments :-)

Lighting isn't my favourite. I know you were probably going for the blown out highlights on top (reminds me of one of those idea lightbulbs popping up over someone's head), but the lighting on the face seems too dark. You could have cropped off the left half though - it doesn't really add to the image.
I like the colors and the range of values you got in the background. I also like that the model is on the "light" side gazing over toward the "dark" side. Simple and elegant and cute. I would like to see the model be a little bigger in the frame, maybe. 6.
