Last year in the Best of 2005 I entered a black and white photo of a war veteran protesting the Iraq war. That finished 533rd out of 829 entries. Maybe I can do a little better this time around but I doubt this will break the top 100.

I am quite honored to have placed in the 95th percentile out of 705 entries in this challenge. It is definitely one of my favorite shots of 2006 and I'm glad others enjoyed it as well.

I see you under-estimated yourself here - doubting a top 100??
Ha!
You did awesome on this one, but now have to look away before I get hypnotized again....
perfect perfect framing and wonderful fun composition.....
I knew this was yours Richard and gave you one of my "10's".....
I really think it deserved to be on the front page.....
Yay! This photo is special and deserves its high placement. I studied it for imperfections in editing or composition and found it to be flawless. Congrats on the great finish!
Loved this when I first layed eyes on it a few months ago. That is why it resides in my favorites. Sure to do well. Perfect on every level. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Well, I'm revisiting some of my favs and I can't believe I didn't comment again. Super duper! The grid of the cage with those piercing golden eyes. WOW
I have this photo in my favorites and I still love it. The selective desat coloring of the eyes only really draws me to this photo over and over again.
i wonder if they ever blink. they seem to be always wide-eyed. Adorable little critters, these lemurs. The eyes captures the attention due to the selective desat, and it's naturally framed by the cage.
The moment I saw this shot I knew I saw it before. Take that as a compliment because it's such an excellent striking shot that wasn't forgotten :) I didnt remember where I saw it but then I just kind of thought I'd browse my favorite DPC photos and there it was!
A very impressive shot with a strong mood. I am visiting zoos from time to time, but your photo causes a guilty conscience in that point. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the challenge!
