I like the pose and the glasses are cool. The photo is too soft, especially around the face, and the lighting is a little harsh (ear is blown out). JMO of course. Good luck in the challenge.
My first reaction is that this could be album art or the portrait of an artist on his program at an exhibit. Has that edgy-modern feel to it. I don't mean that in the negative either. It's cool.
