This was my personal best avg. score on DPC to date, and only my second to break the 6.0 barrier. Shot about 3 miles from home at a nearby ranch. The dark "shadows" in the upper part of the foothills are evergreen trees in the Pike National forest.

Because of the desat it's difficult to tell if this is snow or sand. I'm guessing snow, though. I like the way the fence shadow line echos the fence line, and the way my eye moves along both.
Really cool. Nice choice on the black and white. It would be better I think if the shadow of the fence was as dark as the top of the mountains to balance the photo out a bit.
