One of my favourites, i.e. "mirabile." (I'm not big on technique[yet?], but I think I can see why it wasn't in the top 10, but for me it actually showed something and gave great pleasure). Not sure about the "past" aspect: the path leads to the vanishing point, to the great beyond where we are all headed.

Great diagonal lines. The slight fog really adds to the overall mood of the image. I think some dodging of the upper corners may have helped to further showcase the path and the person walking. Lovely composition. Thanks for sharing.
This is very dramatic... I especially love the lines leading through the center and the way the trees form diagonals combined with the upright figure in the center. Lots of motion in such a still photo!
