 My friends ask me to take their portrait one day. Ideally I'd like to get some critiques from the expert portrait artists here at DPC.

I'm not sure how a simple traditional portrait entry will do, but what the heck - it's a free study! =)

This was taken with my 50mm f1.8, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite lenses. And portraits are one area it really shines.

I really like the duotone used here. It's something that i'd like to work better at and you have it captured perfectly for this shot. I'd say the sun on the left isn't very flattering for her. It's too harsh on the side of her face, but when working with natural light, sometimes you just have to deal with what light you have.
