I found this shot while searching info on lenses. It quickly found a home in my favorites! It is so easy to suspend my reality and believe that I'm looking back in time...glimpsing another world. Wonderful shot!! Well deserved Blue!!!!! Awesome!!!!

I'm shocked that this scored so low. It's perfection really - very atmospheric and certainly very apt in National Geographic or other prestigious publications.

Nice to see a photo taken in my place winning a blue ribbon. Kerala is called God's own Country.

Congrats on your Blue. It looks great, hard to pinpoint what's great it's just really different light and reflections in this one. No doubt the subject and where you've placed them is spot on. Also the monotone throughout even though it's a colour photo looks great. The more you look at this picture the better it gets. Well done.

The best landscape shots IMO are those that make you want to walk into the photo to explore the location yourself. They convey mystery and excitement - as if maybe, just out of sight somewhere, something beautiful and amazing awaits you. This grabbed me immediately as one of those photos. I look at it and I feel an anticipation, a desire to discover what lies behind the trees or down the river. Absolutely beautiful - one of my favorite shots on DPC.

I love this shot! It's just beautiful.

Great light. I like some of the other shots of this series better, though. Here the bright spot of the sky in the top right is a bit distracting: I'd compose to exclude it.
Post actions
As soon as I saw this I had a feeling this one would get top honors. Congratulations!!! I still this is aMAZING!
Post actions
KILLER freaking photo! You must have known that it had BLUE RIBBON written all over it when you saw the result!

8 - Nice unique image. Looks like it needs a nudge up on the left to get it 'straight' - but could just be a perspective thing and/or - you prefer it like this.

This might be a ribbon! This is an amazing shot..good composition. I'd like to see the levels adjusted a little bit more...a little bit crisper near the water, and the boat.

I just love this! The colors and the lighting and the mist and the overhanging trees all give the picture a warm, languid feeling. I like the trees dwarfing the "commuter," too; the picture would not feel the same if you had cropped it tighter. Very nice job :-)

Amazing the stillness of the water and the shadows by the palms on it...

Great warm, serene feeling. Lighting is surperb. One of my favorites for the challenge, and highly rated.

For your sake I do hope most of the voters have properly calibrated monitors. This is indeed a stunning image, but having viewed it on three different monitors I fear that some voters may not appreciate the more subtle colours of the image.
