Thanks so much for the great finish. I have to admit that I didn't really notice the greenish/blue hue to the skin until after people started commenting on it. It's funny how you can stare at an image for a while and fool yourself into thinking that you actually see what you think you see. Good lesson for walking away for a day and coming back with fresh eyes as I probably would have taken it a little further towards the desat side, but I'm not entirely sure. Anyway, this was a fairly tight crop from a full face profile shot. The tighter I went in, the more I liked it. I like to start with a fairly sound idea and then watch where the spirit of the moment takes me. There was some selective desat and smoothening of the skin using the gausian blur method with gradual use of the sharpening brush in layers to selectively minimize the blurring effect. A little sharpening and some dodge and burn fun.
Thanks again to everybody. Merry Christmas! Oh... and to answer a question left, this was 1 of about 10 shots I took. Knew exactly the type of lighting I wanted to reflect nicely off the honey and focus on the mouth... :)

And this is my favorite of your work, this one is one of my all DPC favorites as well, and it was the reason I bought this Tamron lens,
Thanks for beeing an inspiration :)
Personally I think the yellow honey and pink tongue makes the skin appear green and ugly. It's a good photo nonetheless. Congratulations on the blue ribbon.
Great shot Rudy, love the comp and lighting used, and the slight tint to the skin really helps the honey pop. Congrat on another ribbon and something new to your top 5!
Great shot, well worthy of the finish. I particularly like the framing, to create the complex profile line to set off the straight line of the honey pour, fine lighting and good work with the softening/ sharpening to keep the details where you needed them.
Great composition - lighting is very effective and the partial de-saturation is subtely executed and blends naturally into the colour. Nice hint of the abstract about it - Good Work.
You pretty much have this one in the bag me thinks - the stylish, seductive pose - the texture of the lip and lighting - the skin details - pretty amazing. The nose and the honey are just 95% each ... so 9
This is a gorgeous shot with outstanding composition. The lighting is just a bit harsh, but if you still don't ribbon with this shot, then I'll kiss whoever's mouth is featured in the photo. :-)
After browse all the entries in this challenge i think that you will get the blue ribbon. This is my personal bet, ;-)
Congratulations!!!
Relating this wonderful photograph i am not sure if the green hue of the skin was the best choice, but on the other hand it allows you more contrast with the honey hue.
Great color tones | Near perfect lighting & exposure | Nice bit of sensuality thrown in, but I'm not fond of the harshness that crept in on the lips nor the hotspots on the teeth -- 9 --
Great concept ! I really like the way it's been done, lighting , focus etc. The only tiny thing is that (on my monitor at least)the skin has a slight greeny/blue tinge above the mouth. Otherwise a great shot. Well done.
Certainly sticky, but I'm not sure that the green skin appeals to me in this composition: rich, natural, healthy honey and dead flesh??? dunno. Anyway good shot. 7
Very provocative. In contrast with the other shop similar to this one in the challenge. I like the use of the tongue. However the lighting lacks a bit. Maybe a bit brighter. She has a beautiful mouth.
this is really nice, but your choice to go b and w on the skin really detracts...looks like the colour of death...on my monitor it has a greeny tinge...apart from that it is superb, so...8
I uh... i like this very very very very much. :D I mean i REALLY like this... did i mention i like this? Instant fave. If there was a 5bajillion point on there i would have given you that. 10!
