So I was writing down ideas for STICKY on a Post-It note - go figure. I am a Cirque de Soleil fan and this wasn't meant to poke fun...well not much...well OK, maybe it was a full on spoof. Turned out creepier than I intended - I almost don't like to look at it! Maybe just too weird for a decent score. We'll see.
Put on makeup and stuck a bunch of sticky notes to a sheet of flexible plastic that I taped into a cylindrical hat. Arts & crafts again - my favorite!
Stepped outside and held the camera up above me & clicked. Shot in RAW - RAW conversions. Elements - crop, selective color, dodging, burning, hue/saturation, levels, brightness contrast, saturation/desaturation, minor cloning, blur, unsharp mask, stroke, save for web.

This is just fantastic! The idea, the make up, pp... everything! Weird though.. as a thumbnail it looks just like a cartoon... oh well.. going to my favourites :D

Congrats to you family on sharing the DPC home page together. This shows an amazing amount of effort and skill - especially in the 'arts + crafts' as you said. It's unbelievable that you used sticky notes to come up with someting as amazing as this - definitely should be sent to the sticky-note people and obviously they should colaborate with the Cirque people - A match made in ... your mind - love it!
AIMEE!!! Way to go! I know you think this is creepy but I think it's more intriguing than creepy. And a ribbon, no less! Of course, we all know the most important thing is you beat what's-his-name again. Really do like this shot.
LOLOL! Yep...After I saw your post-it wig with the great Cirque du Soleil theme I breathed a very heavy sigh of relief that mine did not work out...Yours is so well done!!! My wig looked like a cross between a clown and British barrister/judge! Oy! Lots of curls....oh well....the flowers are cute though. I may shoot and post them later!....Big huge wonderful congrats on your Ribbon, Aimee! Certainly deserving....great set up and shot!

This is so good! Fantastic. I'm not sure it gives the idea of "sticky" totally, I mean, when I first look at it, I think, beauty and inventiveness and carnival, and cirque (of course), but not sticky immediately. Nevertheless, it's a great entry. ~9
A high character photo,with strong effects....8 am back for a final look and studied this for some time with several others have now made a top 3 selection IMO and bumping for the effort involved...10
I LOVE Cirque du Soleil. The make-up and use of post-its works great for that Cirque look - unfortunately, its quite oversharpened around the forehead which is a little distracting. Still very nice work overall.
A beautifully composed shot with lovely colours. I can see that Stickee Notes haev been stuck all over the head, but this is just too pretty and doesn't shout "stickiness" at me..? dunno that's just my opinion.
You are so incredibly imaginative! I love this picture - the makeup, the use of the sticky-notes, the whole feel. When I first saw it I audibly said, "WOW!" And compared to the other sticky-note entries, this really stands out; has some class.
Excellent entry but a hair too sharpened and the skin texture appears too over-processed. Having said that, this is by far one of the best entries with great pastels and makeup. Bumping up. 9
