When I first saw this challenge I was excited because I could take pictures of the horses, which is my 'specialty'. But things didn't go as planned. I was incredibly stupid and forgot my memory card one day that I went to the barn, and then the other days the weather was too bad to take pictures or I didn't have enough time. I did manage to get three pictures and this was the best one. It'sprobably one of least favorite eye shots I have taken in a while but hopefully It will somehow amazingly score higher than my high score of a 4.5
The horse in the picture is not MY pet but she is a great teacher and a friend. I feel so honored to be able to ride her. Horses have taught me so much - to look ahead with your shoulders back and confidence to the next hurdle life throws at you. Kindness and patience will get you the farthest. Shortcuts never work. Hardwork is the only key to success. Don't overthink it - and don't take life too seriously.
The only editing done was cropping, resizing, and changing the levels on the picture.

I think a portrait should show enough of the animal to know something about him/her. I think this is a horse, but there is no clue as to what makes him/her a pet, friend, and teacher.
Hey, there's a person with a camera in that horse's eye ;-) I like the crop and detail; don't know if it would have been possible to use a slightly different angle to keep you out of the eye. Also the eye itself looks a little dark on my monitor.
