use very strong curve to turn into a semi Silhouette
rotated and cropped
exported as Tiff
further editing with Photoshop:
further strong curve to darken sky and crosses further
used despeckle filter to reduce noise created by the strong curves
cloned out 2 dust spots (wish I could have cloned out the power lines)
converted to B&W (can't remember which method I used: LAB, channel mixer or desaturation)
used an orange warming filter at 100% to add the orange color back in for the sunset look
sharpened
resized
output sharpening
save for web

Wow the sharpness of this image is incredible! Needless to say, you nailed it technically and conceptually. Composition is quite appealing too! Very well done! I can see this doing quite well! 8o)
The sky is very interesting, but I really like the repeating pattern of the crosses. I'd kind of like to see that emphasized a little more. But nothing at all wrong with this photo, great job!
