I cropped the photo, adujusted levels, shadows and highlights and cloned out some dust spots. After I saved it I use Neat Images and slightly made some adjustments. When taking this photo I again use my crude lighting techniques. I also added a small light inside the gift box that illuminated her face.

Smooth lighting. In some way, the sharpness of focus seems to overwhelm the warm fuzzy feeling (maybe just for me) in this particular photo. The title and closed eyes work.
Interesting light on her face - reflecting from the present ? I think capturing a different expression/ eyes open might give more of a feeling of 'life'
