Dushanbe, Tajikistan. She had a set of very nice gold teeth, and was totally delighted with the photograph. Her friends all wanted one after I took it.
I like this photo, not just because of the lady in it, but the background shows something too. The picture of the President on the wall adds context.
Now this is a picture that tells a story. I could almost see this in a magazine, along with an article on Tjikistan. I like everything about the picture: the setup, the colors, the postprocessing...great work!
Good informal portrait of the woman. I love the colors -- her red skirt, the turquoise wall behind her, and then the rich browns of the wall inside the restaurant. The group at the back right make an interesting sub-composition. An altogether terrific picture.
