bud of a flower in the garden. taken late in the afternoon while a breeze was blowing. auto-levels, despeckle (the white spots are from the flash). cropped it so that the flower is off-center to give more of an impression of the wind. i expect to be rated low, but i like the photo anyway. :)

i like the depth of field and colors here, as well as the sense of motion. looks like it might have been overly sharpened to compensate for bad focus, but the shot is still very nice. good composition and positioning. nice work.
This is an interesting photo... I am scoring it an 8... the lighting looks very strange on it though.. it looks like a flash was fired.. is this possibly rear curtain sync? I would love to hear how this photo was done after the challenge :) The only critique that I have is purely compositional preference... I would have positioned the flower on the left side of the frame since the wind appears to be blowing from left to right... good shot :) - jmsetzler
I like the blowing effect. The flower is definately new. Very pretty colors. The background is interesting due to the fact that there is nothing in it. I wish it could have been a little more in focus, but don't know how you could have accomplished that and still have the blowing effect. Over all a very nice photo. Good luck with the challenge.
Flowers were overdone (again) in this week's challenge (I think anyway!) This is a nice picture of a flower and I like the color. Without knowing about the wind (from your title) I would have thought it was a really poor picture of a really beautiful flower. The blurring on the right side distracts me.
I love this shot, it's got an artistic quality that grabs the attention – great colour and lighting, great sense of movement… Challenge link's a bit weak – I think anyway….
Nice image. Strong colours. I like the dreamy aspect of the background and the hint of motion in the image, it works for me. Thank you for submitting it for consideration, it is good work. 9 Morgan
Very interesting effect, and without PhotoShop! This is one of my favorites for this challenge. I find it original and very well done. The colors are very saturated, but that seems to add to the almost surreal look of the photo. The background is great, I would like to know how you achieved it. The composition is just right, almost too tight, but I like that it brings the viewer close in, which is especially important when dealing with the small format required by the challenge. Very good job (10)
Something new. Composition - quite good Technical Aspects - quite good Where is the shadow from? Meets Challenge - yes Visual Impact / Originality – quite good Jim msp
I really like the movement in this photo. And the background is almost like a painting with broad brushstrokes in different directions. Very pretty and so vivid. 7, Kavey
