A happy accident is what this is. I was in the park and these guys all took off so I took a shot. Settings were all wrong. Gotta love when that happens, don't you?
I'm well aware this will bomb as far as score goes. I'm equally aware that not a darn thing is in focus here. And yet I'm quite taken with the end result.
Post processing - I believe I reduced the exposure just a touch in RAW then took it into Photoshop. Did a duplicate layer in overlay mode, reduced opacity on that a bit, flattened. Smart sharpen, crop, a wee bit o' curves, resize and border.

I ordered a print of this and it came today. It is so wonderful in person. Can't wait to frame it up and enjoy. Fab colors, Deb. So glad you made it available for us to enjoy!!!
I'm back again. This is one of my all-time favorite shots on DPC. I've come closer to buying this than anything else, and I still just might at some point.
This is a truly wonderful shot and I'm really glad you entered it into the free study full well knowing it wouldn't do as amazing as it deserves to.
how beautiful!
This is an excellent image. It would have been a good entry for the "diagonal" challenge for sure. It's quite abstract, just color form and motion, which is a nice disconnect from the usual static capture of a split second.
I like it too, as I see others have commented.
Good title too. It really fits the scene.
Ahhhh! Simply stunning!!! I definitely think you should write a tutorial on this as the previous comment said. Also WOW what a score! For a shot like this you definitely did well, congrats!
Hey Deb, This looks like a painting that should be hanging on a wall. This is a really nice shot. Rarely do you see a shot that is completely out of focus that turns out so nice. I think that the birds are more in-focus than the rest of the picture and it makes it look sharper than it really is. Could you please write a tutorial on how to have these kinds of accidents?
Well, you know it's good, so I don't have to tell you that, but POW! didn't it work. I'll join the chorus of congratulations for having the arsehole to enter it. Thanks.
I am stunned at the lack of artful viewers. This is stunning on so many levels. I see it in an avant garde gallery hanging amidst other like images. Keep up the work, deb. It is just outstanding.
Wow. I got nothing else. Throw out any suggestions you might get for changing this. Except if you get one for... nah - just kidding. Seriously - this is excellent. 10
I really like this very magical and romantic, but it gets a bit harsh to view in the brighter areas of this photo. I think the motion blur worked really well in the darker toned areas of this photo.
I really like this alot. It reminds me of an impressionist painting. I love the motion, but so many of the birds are stand-out focused. Really nice work!
