i dunno about this one maybe good maybe bad. i'm not good at titles and i hope you get a little laugh at least. i'm saying low 6's? high guess. ok some curves,contrast,hue/sat,selective color, modify some hue/sat,usm,size,save,and submit.

thanks for all the great comments! it's funny how the 'love hate' relationship developed over the sky. some loved it and some hated it. the noise in the sky is a result of over editing and hue changes. i don't like it either, but i felt the resulting color change was more dramatic and worked well with my title. i don't know how i sneeked in at number one, but i'll take my first ribbon and wear it with pride! thanks everyone!
just trying to find the top to all these great comments! thanks again and again!
"WOW" this is really great, and so deserved the "BLUE" ribbon.....
Well done mate, and this is your first ribbon I think, so deserved, and one of many that will still be cominng your way, thats for sure.....
Great shot, love the comp- but watch the saturation a bit - its artifacting (clipping out) pretty bad throughout the purples. I imagine it wouldn't be noticeable at a smaller size - but here it is definitely visible.
Wonderful shot. Didn't vote on this challenge but now realize I must go through the entries to enjoy the "titles" and images too, yours is right up there with "it's just around the next bend". Congratulations on your first ribbon, blue is such a nice color ;)
I'm sure glad this one did better than you expected! It's great! I've "been there done that" on hikes. . .so it really made me smile! Beautifully executed! Congratulations on your first ribbon!
I didn't vote on it cuz of the blasted sat/hue but I like the title and wide angle.Regardless, A BIG CONGRATS on your first ribbon... must be exciting.

Congratulations! Beautiful shot! Your were definitely in the right place at the right time! This was one of my top picks too.
Thanks for your comment on my red. It's great to be a first timer, finally! You deserve it, too. Your work is very good.
ha lol i love it, i love how the sky draws you to that mountain in the distance, the colors are awsome, and the natural lighting rocks. giving this a 9.
Nice shot, love all the texture in the sky and sand. Would be better if the horizon were level, and it's too bad about the noise in the magenta section of the sky.
Wow, this is amazing and spooky. I'm seeing some weird pixelation in the magenta cast upper quarter, but I love how the sand pattern matches the cloud. One other comment, full lenght of the shadow might have been nice too. All in all, great shot
Very good image, a little overprocessed for my particular taste, but it's OK if that's what you were looking for...
What I defenitely recommend is to have the horizon line leveled, though.
Lovely shot. The sky is a bit odd in the top right, bit I suspect that's just jpeg artifacts. Great light on the sand and the mountains in the distance.
Very nice - I know you can't control the sun but if your shadow was going off into the distance it would enhance the concept more - as it is it only emphasises the off-level horizon
