Lots of playing with layers. Curves, levels, etc. USM. For some reason my white background turned blue after messing around in PS and I had to figure a way to turn it back to white. Can't wait for my PS for Dummies to arrive!!

I can see all of the glass on my laptop - this monitor is excellent at high-end details. I suspect I'd be one of those who couldn't see all of it if I were using my home monitor, which is excellent at the low end. Still, I think it met the challenge - it's definitely pale ale on white!
I gave this a 5. If it were just a perfectly exposed, sharp photo of a glass of ale I would have given it a 4, but I gave you an extra point for the daring processing. You pushed it to the very edge of visibility, so that even though the rim and base are visible on your monitor, they are pretty much invisible on some of the voters' monitors, including mine. And that explains the low score. The things I vote up for, other people vote down for.
p.s. the reason I was voting this low in the first place is because I don't like studio/product shots and I feel a photo should have a reason to exist other than fulfilling the challenge.
sounds like something I'd like right now. I sometimes feel like this: under-rated, invisible, a little blurry ... more focus on details might be better.
This is either too overexposed or you increase brightness without compensating in contrast. Its too washed out. The idea is good and the composition is nice. I'd like to see the original when the challenge is over.
Good idea for the challenge. To make it work, the light would have to be more controlled, so that there is definition in the glass/beer, yet the background remains very white. As it is, the subject gets soft of mushed into the background, and the background is not clear and white. ~4
Right concept with a nice subject. Somehow, not much seems in focus. Maybe because it's all muted a bit (sorry, not sure how else to describe it). Could be the condensation on the glass and glare from the lighting around the top (area without condensation)? The background seems more yellow than white (really evident from the thumbnail view). I like the composition with the off-centering and upper-right placement of the glass. Good luck in the challenge.
I know the overexposed look was probably intentional for the light on white feel, but it really appears like an over exposed shot and I lose focus of whats going on and only see the beer. I might have used more contrast and aimed the light through the beer onto the surface giving "Light on White".
2 / 3 Creativity - Ordinary/Common = 0.
2 / 3 Subject - Subject follow the challenge theme?
1 / 2 Technical - Focus, lighting, etc.
0 / 2 WOW - The hard to get points.
5 /10 Score - I rarely give out 9's & 10's.
