This is an interesting picture of your subject choice, I have spent some time studying it and I just don't see how it applies to the use of lighting to create a mood tone. I was hoping to use the title to help piece it together and that isn't helping me either...

The dappled lighting does give this log pile some nice shadows, the focus is pretty good, but honestly I don't find the subject terribly interesting. I'm not sure what mood you are trying to convey here. Its a nice photo of logs. 5
