First entry with my shiny new camera that arrived this morning! Daddy likes.
I put on my motorcycle gear, over my pajama bottoms and house slippers. I went out in the street and twirled like a balerina. The neighborhood kids were crossing to the other side of the street to go past me. The only way it could have been more strange is if I were singing Judy Garland show tunes.
F8, 1/5th second exposure, built in flash (cheeeeeezy) set to 2nd curtain.
Processed using Adobe Lightroom, which is *almost* an unfair advantage. I used split toning to add punch to the sky and the foliage more orange.
I think "action" is very hard to convey, and often comes off as "blurry". Not sure which side of that line this falls...

I was trying to capture some of the nice fall colors and blue sky in the background, but the ones that had a nice background wound up with a blurry subject, or worse, a strange expression on my face. This is technically a self-portrait.
To answer the questions regarding how I achieved the blur within the rules of basic editing, I stood in front of several trees with nice colors, and held the camera out at arms length. 10-22mm lens at 10, and the apeture set to be pretty small, f18, in order to drive up the shutter speed, which was 1/5th of a second. The natural light versions were too blurry to use, so I fired the built-in flash to get a crisp subject, yet allow the background to swirl.
One nice thing about the XTi with the 10mp capture is that it allowed me to dramatically crop the image down from the catpure and still get a very useable size.
