This is my youngest daughter and a hat the belonged to my great-great aunt. The hat is roughly 30-40 yrs. old. I tried to use some lighting effects when shooting this photo. Adjustments in brightness/contrast; desatuation, levels, slight curves, and cropped.

Not sure about the texture on the wall. Since I am so familiar with that sort of wall texture and associate it with mundaneness, it spoils the illusion a little. But otherwise a fantastic shot. Congratulations on a 6+ score (that's quite high where I come from :) ).
Very good focus and crop, bringing attention to her face. The background wall doesn't help much: it's shiny and rough, oposite to your subject matter, portrait as shy and delicate.
This is a beautiful idea. I would scoot her away from the textured wall, intensify the lighting, as the existing is making the overall shot flat. I'd have the strap slid down so that you only see her shoulder.
A little too dark I think. There are no details left in the black at all and the wall, which I suppose is white, looks more like gray. Besides that I like it - and the title fits perfectly.
...oh, a minor detail: You should have had her take down the strap on her shoulder to get it out of the way.
