One result from an impromptu TFP shoot. Traci, the model, has the most incredible eyes, and I thought they would work well for a B&W. This is one of the first frames I've shot with my new 35mm macro. I think it did well.
Noise Ninja, Smart Sharpen, Cloned out a few stray hairs, Channel Mixed to grayscale, and tweaked with Levels and Curves. A final sharpen after the resize.

Thank you all for your comments. This photo met my first two DPC goals: it broke the 6.0 barrier, and it made it to the first page of the 'Olympus E-1 Highest Rated Photos'.
A few people asked about the unique catchlights. They are a byproduct of my ringlight. Someday I'll make a diffuser for it, but I don't dislike the effect.

I keep coming back this one and keep getting caught in those eyes. Those catchlights are supurb and there is something about the expression I love. I've had to come back and go from a 9 to a 10, only the second one I've given in all the entries. Good luck!
While different, I don't like the unnatural light catch in the eyes. I do however really like the nice even skin tones framed by the deep blacks. I just personally would have liked it better with a more natural catch light. Good luck with the challenge!!!
Great close up. The lighting is nice though it could use a litt more depth. The only thing that bugs me is that her right eye is cut off. Not really a fan of cutting the chin either.
