I went to the fair with my camera club, but it was cold and not busy at all so not all the rides where going. Then I found Albert, running the Coconut Shy. For the price on having a go, he let me take some shots of him. Not sure he totally understood what I was doing there, but the pitch did used to belong to his dear old Mum - Mrs E Harris.
This is my favourite of the lot.
Lightroom:
- Custom Set white balance
- darken blacks
- increase contrast
- increase brightness
- Convert to grayscale
- slightly turned in the 'S' curve to boost contrast further at the black end and the white end
- Cropped to 10x8 for print later and to improve comp
- Grayscale mixer to boost tonality
PPCS2
-Dodge & Burn on forehead/hat/neck to improve on highlight
- Idnic's pimp the eyes technique. Does show too much here, but makes a hugh difference
- Clone fag ash out from the jumper
- Added DoF by using the Lens Blur filter to just the far background
- USM
- Colourise to improve overall tonality of the monochrome.

You gotta get your adjectives in the right order, first shy and then old :) Take it from an English teacher :)))) Cool shot!
Kiwiness, thanks for the comment 'Cool shot!' means quite a bit coming from you. However ALbert runs the Coconut Shy at the fair. I switched those adjectives on purpose!
