These are some of the books I've collected and read over the years. In them are interesting ideas, but who really has THE answer to life's mysteries?
This shot was taken with my Canon 10D and new Sigma 105mm 2.8 EX macro lens, with one photo flood and a reflector to one side. Photoshop 7.0 was used to adjust levels, contrast, and sharpness.

Heavy duty reading. Wow. Stephen Hawking's. Amazing man. If you read all of these my hat is off to you!! Your shot is nice, not overly exciting but nice focus and light.
Interesting question you're asking, but your photo is of books rather than science. I won't dock you for not meeting the challenge though, since that has become so controversial.
Great selection of books... I'm especially a big fan of the one at the bottom. However, I think that an imaginative response to the challenge involves more than just a stack of books. Many people use a pair of glasses next to books in a shot. Some use dramatic lighting. I would have thought about posing a couple of people... one measuring and one mediating in the background.
