Got to the lake just after sunset. Ducks were very active swimming around, fighting each other, and mostly cleaning themselves. This area is where water from one lake flows into another over a small step. This is the only calm area on the lake, idea for the mirror effect. This duck just cleaned itself and is fanning itself dry. I cropped the head of duck to focus attention on the reflection instead.

The reflection is very well done... crisply focussed. For me, I would have liked to see the head of the duck on land - but that is just a personal preference,... good job

The reflection is not strong enough to carry this composition. The reflected duck is too dark because you exposed for the real duck, but then you cropped it out. If you are intending the reflection to be the major element then expose for that and lose the original totally.
