My Italian Father's
Buttered Spaghetti Recipe
.........................
4 large sprigs of fresh basil, chopped
4 large sprigs of fresh oregano, chopped
4 green onions, chopped
1 Small Zucchini, chopped
2 Cans Tomatoes, well drained!
3/4 Stick of Butter or Margarine
1/2 package of Spaghetti
Chop basil, oregano, green onions and zucchini. Drain tomatoes, and once drained, chop to smaller pieces and add to herbs and vegetables. Set aside.
In a large pot, heat 5-6 Qts of Water to boiling adding 2 teaspoons of salt.
While water is coming to a boil, heat butter in a skillet and add the chopped herbs and vegetables. Saute' just until soft or tender. Do not brown. Leave heat on low until spaghetti is done.
Place spaghetti in boiling water and boil for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Check for doneness, but do not overcook. Drain spaghetti well. This is the secret to this recipe. Place spaghetti back into the pot and add the buttered sauteed herbs and vegetables. Toss until spaghetti is uniformly coated with the buttered concoction. Reheat on low, stirring constantly but gently so as not to stick, scorch or break spaghetti. Serve immediately.
Note: if the recipe seems a little dry, you may add a couple of tablespoons of Virgin Olive Oil, but don't overdo this as the flavors will change.
Serve with Italian or French Bread, Salad and Red Wine.
Preparation time less than 30 minutes.
Serves 4

This looks delicious and very appetizing. The colors are wonderful, the light background works very well and the cropping is almost perfect, i would have liked to see the noodles complete. I give this one a 9
terrific! You captured this wonderfully.....love the veggies the way they seem to be just barely sitting there...nice touch putting it on the white background....10.
Looking through the entries, I found 2 that stood out to be contenders in the top 3 so far. This is one of them. I think the lighting is good. The only spot I see that could have been a tad better, is right at the bottom near the middle. It gets a little bright right there. Your focus and clarity are really good, and I like the presentation of the food very well. There is a poster similar to this in one of our pizzarias and I have always liked it. Good luck in the challenge. ~Heather~
Heh, great title. Works perfectly with the shot. The food looks great, love the lighting. Crisp lines and good focus. Would've liked all the tendrils of spaghetti to be fully in the shot. Nice solid photo. 7
Nice idea on presentation - much more interesting than seeing a static bowl of the stuff... looks wonderful. Background has a little shadow to the lower left (which could easily be edited out post challenge). Great shot!
