After sacrificng two pumpkins to get the angle right, and cutting apart my cat's toy spider (which I now have to replace) for the halloween "cats'" bodies and tails...my wife says it's too esoteric! Oh well...too late now. Used the night vision focus of my 717 and flash.

The lighting seems a bit too strong towards the bottom of the pumpkin - but it shows well on the upperside and on the stem. Well composed. Not sure I really like the black material on the inside...
hmm.. I'm assuming you mean the cats are in the pumpkins. Though the concept is cute, the picture isn't appealing to me. It does fit the challenge though.
Ok, this one is just plain weird... I like it! You obviously have a very strange view of the world. again, I like it!
Re: the image. It's too centered for my taste. I prefer off centre subjects, but that's me. Good focus, colour and DOF. More negative space would have aided the artistic composition. 6 for being able to stuff all those kittens in there and getting them to sit still.. <>
ROFLMAO!!! I love this shot, in the thumbnail it really caught my eye, I thought it was worms coming out until I read the title so it was the first one I clicked and then laughed. I didn't grade or comment right away, wanted to absorb more and let the image really sink in. Now that I have more time, I love the set up on this one! Being the owner of 2 black cats (have always had a black cat since I was 12 years old) it is amazing how many more show up around this time of year.
Now for the shot, I love the concept, it's genius to me, the color, the clarity is wonderful the only thing that doesn't work for me is the lighting. If it was more balanced and not so bright at the bottom and darker at the top or maybe if it was even darker at the top, indicating a night shot. The way the background fades away is wonderful also, really adds depth to the shot. I'm starting this one at an 8 but I will be back, have a feeling it will become one of my favs this time around.
