a great challenge, and a shot i can be proud to submit. not much editing in the lab, just a little color, curve and contrast adjusting, with some dodging and burning to enhance the feel, no crop, just size and submit. certainly a personal best and maybe my first ribbon? enjoy!

What a cracker! (that's English for 'great' in case....)
Weirdly, there seems to be a face to the right in the water, with an open mouth, red lips, and lots of big teeth. Reminds of the film 'Mask', but yellowy, not green.
I love the American Scenery - you have such a lot, and what variety
Unfortunately, I live in England, and cannot afford to travel to the States, but would love to come and visit some of these beautiful places.
Hey great job on 4th place. I voted this photo in my top 3. I am glad it did as well as it did. I also really enjoy it because I was able to visit Zion Ntl. this summer! GREAT JOB
thank you all for such wonderful comments! congrats to everyone for such a high ranking open challenge tally. this will certainly be a difficult score for me to live up to. and i'm up for the challenge dpc.
always try to beat your personal best right. have to wait and see.
My wife and I have been working on our smoth water effect, and really like this picture. Great effect, and the slow shutter speed did not cause over exposure. Highlights on wet rocks look good, and the composition is great. Good job. -TEN!-
Have you noticed the reflection lower right looks like a face? Eerie... Nice shot, perhaps a little too symmetrical top to bottom. The implied horizon is smack-dead-center, and in this case it seems to make the image a little more static than it ought to be. Great POV.
