Good idea. I think this "star" filter makes the rest of the photo hazy, and IMO takes away more than adding to it. The leaf colors are drained out. I do see that the lights colors are exposed, too.
I love this concept that you were going for, the sun being exposed through the trees but to be honest the filter you used to create the prism effect really hurt the shot to me. While the colors are very pretty it washes out the rest of the shot to me and make the center of attention, the sun a distraction instead of an attraction. I'm starting this one at a 4 but I will be back to study it more.
This is an interesting filter effect, but the photo doesn't appeal to me subjectively. The filter is the main point of interest here rather than the scene itself.
