Hmm, I don't think I've ever seen bear claw marks before! Neat :-) I think perhaps the photo might stand out a little more if it included some more of those lovely fall colors in the background.
Offsetting the detail in the tree markings with the splach of color, balances this photo very nicely. The crisp detail ices this cake very well. Great job!
Certainly makes one stop and think. :D I like the color contrast with the white birch and the orange leaves in the bg. The top 2/3rds of the tree trunk is well focused, started to slide out a little near the bottom. Angle plus shallow aperture perhaps? Anyway, nicely done overall. Good luck in the challenge.
