The stem of a rose. I used a great deal of post process, but didn't write down the order of all the steps.
I've been playing with a new style of processing and really like the end results. I use a few layers - one on multiply and the second on screen at various opacities - usually merge then make another layer and screen and adjust the opacity. I then dodge and burn a great deal on the bottom layer. I will also play with adjustment layeres - selective color, curves and levels. oops - also neat image and sharpen are used at various points and multiple times.
Wow. This is gorgeous. I love the detail in the leaf. Also, the yellow of the flower is so close up and you can see such great texture. It almost looks like a leather couch to me! The angle is wonderful, and I also really like the border you chose.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful...
Your PP is just state of the art here and you've created a piece of digital art. Looks like and airbrush painting :)
I'll fav. it at once...
Play with the processing til you get something that looks cool! That's my motto too! :) This is really a terrific job! The end result is fantastic and not the typical flower shot. VERY well done!
I thought it was some kind of fruit too, until you said it's a rose stem. Excellent job with the post-processing - I'm not sure I could do all that without collapsing in a heap from exhaustion. ;-)
I love the detail and the color here. The texture is really cool and the rose part actually looks like you can tell just by looking at it weather it is still firm in the middle or not.
