Very cool--I'll have to read up on tone mapping. I love how painterly the bottom portion looks. I also like the composition. But one minor crit: I am not as sure I like the effect on the darker clouds and proximate sky!

congrats on a top ten finish. I like the processing done here. It looks like an oil painting. Good contrast from the weak ambient light or blocked sunlight. It's a dark sunny day .

I really like how vibrant the colors are and the way the sun reflects off the boats. Something about the clouds look odd but I can't put my finger on it. Good job though. 7

Beautiful Light and tonal qualities. I was just at a Wedding Recption there last weekend. I see some similar qualities in our entries. Is it possible that you are the photographer that everyone seems to be mistaking my entry for?

High pixel unsharp mask appears to have been used here and the unnatural cast of shadow it makes around bright spots in clouds I find distracting. From the trees on downwards, it is a nice shot: I am especially fond of the grass ad the wooden pier as lit by the warm morning light.

"The HDR effect" immediately springs to mind. "Try to think beyond the effect" says another part of the mind. It's unreal. It's lovely, but unreal. The composition is nice regardless of the effect. I think I like it. 9. - back again: make that a 10.
