I LIKE the desat a lot. It was a smart thing to do with this harsh light and water noise. I might, might have fiddled with the contrast of the fountain or brought the whites down a peg... or possibly have applied a touch of gaussian blur only to the background. Maybe. Excellent shutter speed and focus. Great capture overall.

There is much to love about this photo: the action, the relationships between playmates, the sheer thrill of playing in water. It is well composed and well exposed. Somehow, the undue focus on the dress undermines the strengths of the photo IMO.
