What am I missing? I've looked at this for several minutes but the left side is so dark I'm not sure what I'm looking at.
Ammendmum: I readjusted my monitor's brightness and contrast settings and WOW! What a difference! I can now see the picture much more clearly and you are right, this is a REAL NIGHTMARE! Your score just went WAY UP!
Another addition, after going back through these again, I again bumped your score, this is really a frightening thought, having a small baby myself, 16 months old, the thought of losing him in the middle of the night, you captures that perfectly. It's not a perfect picture but darn close in my book.
Yup - that's pretty grim. It's not a technical masterpiece but it does kind of help this scenario. Very worrying - and sad that it really happens sometimes. Certainly spooks me - and I'm a father!
I can really identify with this idea. Composition is good, but the whole image needs a tiny bit of more light to balance it off. The hot spot around the nightlight draws your eyes away from the main subject.
Too dark. It's impossible to tell what the pic is about... I only see a light in the lower right that illuminates some dolls or something. Check your monitor settings maybe.
I can't tell what's going on here. I think you would have had a really strong photo here if it was a bit lighter. Good luck.
PS- I look at this pic again at work too (on a LCD flat panel) and it comes out much better!
It's too dark. All I can make out is the night light, and maybe there is a hand and leg and I think there is a crib but it fades to darkness so I can't be sure. Try using some more lights and if you want a subdued atmosphere use a thin sheet between them and the photo area.
Nice use of "Low key" Photography. I think this would have worked better for me if it had been just a tad lighter...maybe more distinction of the child. still I like. Good Luck! 7
it's hard to tell what's going on here. the title helps but it shouldn't be necessary. using the night light as the only "effect" lighting is great, but I think you need at least a little light for exposure, maybe coming in from the window or the upper left.
A good idea but too dark, even for a nightmare submission. You might have wanted to play with levels here, lightening just a bit to give just a hint more detail.
Yep this is nightmare! It is a very dark pic, but I see it was your intention to do that, using the little light at the bottom right to lighten everything only just enough to let us see what is happening. This is great, I like it.
Nightmare it is. But it is dififult to make out the action at first. I originally thought it was a father rocking a crying baby (aka, a mather's best dream)
