I was out of town and asked my roommate to upload a photo for me for this contest. She neglected to turn it the right way up before uploading, which is why it's sideways. (She also didn't do the simple editing I asked her to do, like USM.) I'm surprised people bashed me on the score so much for it when it seems that most people realized it was, in fact, sideways.

Somehow, I feel like this should have been rotated 90 degrees clockwise. Other than that, the shot itself doesn't really hold my interest. To me, the shadows are kind of harsh, and the photo isn't really sharp. If there were water coming out of the mouth, maybe I would like it better.
I'm ignoring the fact that it's not upright. I love the colours and textures of the basin, and I like the face of the carving. I think the picture could have benefited from more sharpening.
I like the use of shadows but do not understand the sideways photo. Also, the horizontal boards in the picture show that it is definitely not straight. 4
