Yep. I think I may prefer this one, too. The more real look gives it even more bit. And you have a great face - neat image need only be used to create an effect, not to mask anything.
I like the eyes a touch better with the neatimage version, but I like the skin here better. Maybe even make it blimished looking and ruffer, with the smoooth bright eyes would make a nice statment. Maybe a desat as well on the skin only.
