My interpretation of one of Photonurd 's songs titled "The Beautiful Movie". Have a listen, he's quite amazing :). Anyways, I wasn't aiming to do an interpretation of the song ... but after looking at this pic for a while it donned on me that if fits perfectly. I know the connection may be hard for others to make because it is somewhat abstract, but for me it's crystal clear. <3
Here are the lyrics:
"The Beautiful Movie"
What a beautiful life they live on the screen
Every word sings a note that screams to me
So I'll hang on their lines as if made of steel
I know it's not real but it beats reality
When you're haunting me and I cannot sleep
Another long night with my pen to the page
So I'll search for the moon I saw in your eyes
But I'll search all alone as leaves fall from the sky
I pushed you away weren't we supposed to be
A beautiful movie
This short film has no end
I'll kiss your hand and disappear
And now in my dreams you're reaching out to me
I wish I could follow
I'll see you with closed eyes
You'll have a safe place in my dreams
Oh what was that line again the one that made me think about you yesterday
Oh yeah, "Maybe I should climb the highest tree to see
The way all these scared little animals live their lives"
Oh no, you're reaching out again
And you're haunting me and I cannot sleep
Another long night with my pen to the page
I'll search for the moon I saw in your eyes
Another long night as leaves fall from the sky
I pushed you away weren't we supposed to be
A beautiful movie
This short film has no end
I'll kiss your hand and disappear
And now in my dreams you're reaching out to me
I wish I could follow
I'll see you with closed eyes
You'll have a safe place in my dreams
Really nice. I like how your back is arched - helps separate you from the wall. I also like how the curves of your body reflect the curves of the heart.
This is very beautiful and sweet. The noise is an interesting choice, and works really well with this theme, which surprises me. I love the way the photograph is cut in two by an almost high-key/low-key effect. The heart shape and your form seem to take a little bit out of each other in order to appear in their respective places. Just lovely.
Shannon, you are one gifted and talented photographer - you have a very fresh and delightful approach to your pictures - it's a joy to look at what you shoot. This one is a tad on the sadder side, as far as the emotion it evokes, but even still it imparts hope.
You are such a doll and you inspire me in so many ways! I'm honored to have sparked a connection with such a brilliant image crafted by your genius! I think it goes without saying you have become one of the most respected and talented photographers here on DPC! 8o)
OMG! I have never heard that song before and it started playing in my head when I looked at this image!! ...ok, not really - but that would be freaky weird, huh? :)
Seriously Shannon - this is... *scans previous comments so as not to duplicate adjectives* ...SPECTACULAR! I love it. :)
