The rifle isn't really that old, and even the old photo is a fake. I'm the one holding the sword on the right and my father is the one holding the gun!

Nice ....but, lacking something I can't quite pin point. Hopefully someone with more experience will be able to comment more constructively. =6 syamjonimi
Is the photo "real" or one of those county fair deals? (doesn't matter, just curious, like are you in the photo?) Excellent capture of the gun, it must be in really great shape, it doesn't look very old (except for maybe the styling). Was the placement over the "ladies" due to necessity (space) or is there hidden meaning in it? It's just that the dresses seem to fit better than the uniforms. 8 Swash
I like this but find the frame of the photo distracting. I'd have liked it better with the photo out of the frame and the gun on that, with nothing else in the shot. The frame just seems to jar a little wth the photo and gun.
I am a sucker for gun pics. This looks like a neat old Marlin Rifle. I also have an old Marlin Rifle. I am the 4th Generation to own and hunt with my rifle. I think that it is great that a family hands down a gun from a father to a son. Great photo.
Something old. Use your photographic technique to emphasize the age of your subject. Composition - great Technical Aspects - very good Meets Challenge - yes+ Visual Impact / Originality - high
Great idea, great picture, great effect…(7) Why not 10 I hear you say? The gun looks far too modern – I'm no expert on weapons, but it does look really modern – I think anyway…
Are you that gun nut from the 'Fear' challenge? Just kidding, I know where our freedom comes from. Nice shot but I wish the gun were not covering the old photo. I want to see the other people in it.
