Challenge: Abstract Macro II (Advanced Editing IV)
Camera: Nikon D70
Location: East Schodack, New York
Date: Sep 24, 2006
Aperture: 5.6
ISO: 1000
Shutter: 1/30
Galleries: Abstract, Macro

Didn't know if I should title this "One of True Value" or maybe "My Master Plumber", but both seemed silly so I just named it the hex value of the primary color of my tee shirt that is being reflected in front.

This is a shot of our bathroom water faucet which is a very pricey (not) True Value Hardware "Master Plumber" product. I have no affiliation to either, hence my reticence to name the file something along those lines. Anyway, the hex number title makes it a bit more mysterious and harder to identify which is more in the spirit of the Challenge Details (hopefully).

Shot RAW with my D70 and Micro-NIKKOR 55mm 2.8 lens. Spiced up a bit with "Incandescent" color temp import, some sharpening, a little contrast boost, slight saturation increase and some very close cropping.

My goodness people...it's abstract macro - not just macro! The challenge was 'Take a picture so close up to something that it cannot easily be identified at first glance.' You got ripped-off as your photo CLEARLY meets the challenge FAR better then most. No offense to the photographers, it's the voting process...come on...it's clearly a flower, or a cat, or a baseball, or colored pencils. There is not even a change to wonder because it's SOOO obvious! Anyway, sorry for the rant...saving your photo to favs.

I'm weird enough to love an image of a metal corner. Not sure about the title. 7
