This remains a phenominal example of how, in the right hands, HDR can be a wonderful tool. Saw this on the "recently commented" page - brought back memories!!

I love the clarity and the colors. The waves crashing on shore is an added touch. Love the clouds and the pink in them. Very good job.

these are the images that constantly make my jaw drop! this is perfect. the subtle colors, the clarity fo the scene & the seeming never-ending vista...

I agree with Imagineer. Tastefully done.

So nice; so eye pleasing; beautiful pink and blues; what makes this is the fantastic is the mist and haze qualities contrasted with the fact that you can see so deeply into the picture with clarity and depth to the horizon. makes it surreal.

One of the few HDRs I actually think has had correct and balanced application. Lovely scene.Message edited by author 2006-11-10 04:13:20.

This is great! I need to learn more about HDR.

A perfect Post Card. Fantastic!!!!!

this is by far my favourite photo in this challenge, I'm ashamed that my poor oversaturated photo was somehow voted higher than this masterpiece. It says a lot about the tastes of the dpc voters that this didn't break the 9 barrier.
Post actions
Congratulations on No. 4. Did not comment earlier, but voted high. Well deserved...
Post actions
Robert, what a great photograph! I'm glad that you are into HDR because you are so willing to share with all of us, I can't wait until you start a learning thread on HDR! You are truly a resident expert and I thank you for all your help in your writings.

Robert: your images are always so compelling with a beauty that only you can find. Congratulations on your 4th placing, worthy of a ribbon.
Post actions
Eh, it doesn't suck. I still want my print that isn't all green and icky. :-)

A great result for a great picture Robert, HDR is certainly the future for landscapes like this, congrats again and hard luck not to ribbon.

Congrats. A very good illustration of that HDR/tone map processing you've been hyping. And oh yeah great scenery! I love how there are three distinct sections to this shot.

Good clean work. processing and sense of composition are spot on, and it's really nice to see a landscape not overblown and wiped out in processing in an attempt at 'drama'. This is good stuff.
