 My horse and dog adore my daughter Alyx, so this shot was not hard to take. This was actually candid. It's not as high of quality as I would have liked, but I couldn't resist entering it.

Too bad the little girls face is all in shadow. You might have tried to use a fill flash, but I don't know if that would have overexposed the horse. Never hurts to try though.

Nice photo - I like the angle you used. However, overexposure on the child's jacket causes loss of detail there.
