 I'd like to think this is an environmental portrait. Unfortunately, the man's face isn't as sharp as I'd like it, but this is a small crop of a much larger frame. Also, this was shot with my lens at 300 mm. and the depth of field is very shallow. The auto focus may hve grabbed on the horse and not the rider. At any rate, I thought the horse was good and the overall effect dramatic. Fooling around with duotones.

It's a nice composition and portrait. It would qualify as enviornmental but could be stronger. Need a few more hint to why he's on that horse. Not everyone would know it's polo unless they knew the sport. The horse is too dark, I lighten just a touch before saving for web, that might help some there. You used a good aperture for the getting good DOF for that angle of the horse so your lens might soften a bit when all the way out at 300mm. I had a Canon EF 28-200 that did that.
