Wow, I'm on cloud nine over the placement of this, I NEVER expected this to do so well! I'm so proud of my little camera.
My lighting setup is ghetto. Throw a piece of black velvet overtop of my old monitor box. Set this highly technical top secret setup on the kitchen table in front of a sliding glass door, sit the flower in an old cup and shoot away.
THANKS EVERYONE for their votes and comments :)

I really DO wish you'd stop giving away "our" lighting secrets, mom... Your description made me laugh. Go check out some of my setups sometime to see why :-)
We should form a "Team NO Studio" or something!
Congrats on a lovely flower and a well-deserved ribbon.
I just wanted to publicly thank everyone for their votes and comments. (Wow, look no 1's or 2's!) I'm pretty excited and shocked at this one but at the same time not happy about getting my ribbon this way.
Dunno' how you do your lighting, but it's fabulous.
I know you aren't happy to see Sandy's shot knocked out to get yours in.
Nobody like a ribbon this way, but still get a congrats from me Debbie.
This is a stunner, and yes, deserves to be in fourth place.....
I really love how you have captured the softness of the petals, but also really great textures as well.....
Crisp and clear. I guess my idea of pastel must be different than others. I'm wanting very pale with a light background, but the image overall just as a stand alone is simply gorgeous with perfect focus.
It IS pretty! I like that it's upside down...makes it a lot different than all the other flower shots in this challenge. The black background is great for contrasting the color of the petals. Good luck :)
