Remember the rule of thirds when composing a photo. The main subject should be on either side or top or bottom third of the frame.

I think if you had cropped it with the tree on the left side it would've closed off that side keeping the viewers attention from wandering.
I like the way the cow seems to poke out of the shadows... nicely done... except for the crop.
