A different angle would have made this a better photo. It would have allowed the viewer to look deep into the dog's eye. Relection in the eye is distracting and blows out the main focus of the picture.
I've heard that you should always focus on the eyes, and I think this would have worked a lot better with that rule in mind. The reflections and burnt out highlights on the eye don't help either, but there are some great textures. 6
Beautiful clarity/lighting. Good use of dof. What did you do to this poor dog to make him (her?) stay still long enough and not try to lick the camera?
neat shot, but i think it would be better if focus was shifted back just a bit, to get the eye to be the point of best focus. the reflection in the eye would then be very striking.
