I went out today, to take some images of a sunset for the silhouette challenge, and before I was completely set up the sun went behind some clouds.
I was lucky that I took a couple of test shots, as when I came home without my silhouette image, I didn't think I have anything worth processing.
I was in for a shock, as after processing this image, I went "WOW", when it came up on the moniter, and fell instantly in love with it.
I decided then and there, that it was worth submitting this one, for the "Image without Subject" challenge instead.

I'm not a sucker for sunset pictures - actually I find most of them boring.
Your shot here is one of the few exceptions to the rule. First of all because it's a little different from most sunsets: There's no horizon and theres no sky. The other great thing about it is the composition with the "golden triangle" in the corner - and the square format is just perfect for the picture.
I think the comments you received during the challenge sum up your entry pretty well, “Wow”, “Perfect for this challenge”, “Beautiful”. The colors are well saturated and the whole image is very dramatic looking. Having 20/20 hindsight commenting after the challenge, your image could just as easily have been in the top ten as any of the others. Thus, with no technical flaws and by meeting the challenge no questions asked, your score merely reflects the tastes of the voters and in particular, the small number that happened to vote on your image. You have a stunning entry here that anyone at DPC would be proud to have in their portfolio.
Well, I certainly picked this one to finish higher than 51st place with a 5.9. This is beautiful Shez! A perfect photo for this challenge and executed very well!
