Great image. Subject placement is good. Making him small with respect to the rest of the frame is a good visual representation of the vastness of nature compared to us humans. The stark desolation of the this scene contributes to the overall feeling. This image fits the challenge topic well and matches the feelings I had much of the time I was alone. Great capture. - Steve
like the wide open space and the "steve" figure but with advanced editing you should have been able to do a lot more to improve the dramatic sky and make a much bigger impact. Still one of my top pics for this challenge
So empty in such an appealing way... There's a bit of detail missing in the ground, I think, but that's a nit. Mostly, I think this is a very, very nice image. The mountains and the figure hiking are the best parts, in my opinion.
a touch gloomy though that might be the right mood for such a story and I like the sense of isolation of the solitary figure of Steve in the barren landscape
On of the best ideas in the challenge. You really feel this guy could be lost. The colors seem to all blend together but at the same time it adds mystery. Nice Job
